School Involvements
I attended the field trip to the CERT Training in Hillsboro Fire Department from 8 am to 3 pm, a full eight hour course. During this training, I learned the importance of emergency response and how to react in a disaster the proper and safe way. I found this really useful because I am now aware of the safety procedures and I am able to perform certain procedures to save my life and others. I also learned how to use the fire extinguisher and how to extinguish a fire.I am thankful that I taking Health Services because it helped to grasp new knowledge that can benefit my life. At the end, I received a certificate that shows that I have learned and complete the eight hour course.

In my Health Services class, I attended the field trip for my community and volunteer hours to complete my graduation but also for knowledge. I completed three hours of volunteering with my classmates which required students to interact with elders and understand how their necessities are health related. The field trip took place in Rosewood Elderly Home Care in Hillsboro and I learned a lot from this experience. It helped me to gain more knowledge of how the elders live and how the employees interact with them. A lot of opportunities for students are available for them to volunteer and to create a positive impact in this health environment. It is a great volunteer service for students who plan to take on the nursing career. From this experience, I can take this for my psychology career because I observed how a elder's behavior responds in this care and with people.

During practice, Mrs. Jenkins announced that volunteers will be needed for the concussion for OSAA Basketball Tournament. I needed this opportunity for my senior project hours plus I wanted to help out the community. As I was volunteering I had to wear a Liberty Fit shirt to represent the program and I had people asked me what is Liberty Fit. I was in charge of preparing the food for customers and attended any of their needs or complaints. I made sure that my work area was organized so my partner and I could prepare and serve the food fast so customers would not have to wait. In this picture I was preparing a customer's nachos with cheese. I completed four hours of volunteer work and this experience helped to develop leadership skills and responsibility.

I volunteered for the Shamrock Marathon that was held at Portland. The objective in volunteering was to passed out flyers that had information of Liberty Fit and encourage runners and people to join Liberty Fit's 15K run. In these pictures, I am taking a picture of the runners and my cousin took a picture of me as I was doing that. I completed five hours of volunteering and I enjoyed this experience because as I was seeing people run I knew that would be me in few weeks.
